Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This policy explains how Skip Hire Group ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use skiphiregroup.co.za, request a quote or deal with us. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
Responsible party: [Registered company name], trading as Skip Hire Group.
Head office: [Street address], Krugersdorp, Gauteng, South Africa.
Information Officer: [Name].
Email: office@skiphiregroup.co.za
Phone: 062 265 1630 / 084 532 1835 (Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 16:30).
2. What information we collect
When you request a quote or contact us, we collect what you give us:
- your name and company name (if any);
- your email address and contact number;
- your delivery address and area;
- the skip you want, your preferred date and any notes you add;
- your WhatsApp number and messages, if you contact us on WhatsApp;
- proof of payment you send us, and the invoice and payment reference for your order.
We also record your IP address and the date and time of each quote request, which we use to stop spam and abuse. When you visit our site, standard technical and usage information is collected through Google tools (see section 6).
3. Why we use it
- to prepare and send you a quote and our price list;
- to invoice you, confirm payment, and deliver and collect your skip;
- to contact you about your order;
- to keep business and tax records as the law requires;
- to protect our site against spam and fraud;
- to measure and improve our advertising and website.
We use your information because you ask us for a quote or service, because the law requires us to keep records, and because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting our business.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed with:
- our drivers and staff, who need your address and contact details to deliver and collect;
- service providers that help us run the business, such as our website host, email provider and accountants;
- Google, for website analytics and advertising measurement (section 6);
- authorities, where the law requires or allows it.
Some providers, including Google, may process information outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on providers that offer adequate protection for your information.
5. How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and order records for as long as needed to deal with your request and meet legal and tax record-keeping periods (normally up to five years). After that we delete or anonymise them.
6. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our site uses Google tags (Google Ads and related tools) to measure whether our advertising works. These tools use cookies and similar technologies to record things such as the pages you visit, whether you submit the quote form, and whether you tap our call or WhatsApp buttons. They do not tell us your name. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or manage Google's ad settings at adssettings.google.com. How Google handles data is described in Google's Privacy Policy.
7. How we protect it
Our website uses HTTPS, so quote forms are encrypted in transit. Enquiry records and admin tools are kept in areas that are not open to the public and are protected by access controls. Only the staff who need your information to serve you can see it. No online system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we will tell you and the Information Regulator if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
8. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold your personal information and give you a copy;
- correct or update it;
- delete it, where we no longer need it or have no legal reason to keep it;
- stop using it for marketing or object to how we process it.
Email office@skiphiregroup.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, email complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.
9. Children
Our services are for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
